| MS & BELOW MESS - EXECUTIVE | ||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Mess Elections Coming As outgoing PMC, i'd like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank all those who helped me in what i consider a very successful 06/07 year in the mess. I had a very eager and active executive who really stepped up to make sure we not only achieved most of the goals we set out to achieve but also helped us have what I would call one of the funnest messes i've ever been a part of. Turnout to events has continued to go up with record turn-outs to the Levee and Mess Dinner and SELL-OUT turnouts to our Pub Crawl and St.Patrick's Day Party. It's been a tough decision to step away from the executive this year, but with a strong and well structured executive in place I've made the decision to move on and place my energies into new projects including this year's Junior Ranks Ball 2008 to be hosted by HMCS Discovery coming this March. Congratulations to our new Mess Executive! There has been a lot of movement throughout the committee although there are still many returning faces. After many years as Vice-PMC and Bar Manager, we are proud to see Matt Williams take the helm as the new Mess President. Christian Mosley has returned once again, this year jumping into the Vice-PMC position. Sara MacAleese returns as the Mess Secretary and Jasyn Walsh is moved over into the Ships Welfare Rep position. There are many new faces added to the executive this year as well. Despite never being officially part of the executive last year, both Doug Longley and Michelle Lagace were both very involved in last years successes. Doug was instrumental in installing our lighting system last year and assisting with setting up our air hockey table and Michelle was very involved in Entertainment events during the beginning of the 2006/2007 year prior to going away on contract. Doug takes over as Housing Rep and Michelle is the new Entertainment Rep. After a short run as Ships Welfare Rep at the tail end of last year, Louis Shea now takes over the Mess Treasurer. Also new to the exec are our new Sports Rep Cheyanne Delaronde and Kenny Yen stepping into our newly created Ordinary Seaman Rep. Committees are forming now!
